Hacking the Archives. A Salt Road project commissioned by The University of London for the Being Human Festiva. We invited artists Sally Payen, Dan Brown, D-Fuse, Cathy Wade, Jaime Jackson and Nat Pitt. Curated by Salt road, Being Human Festival and the University of London’s School of Advanced Study, commissioned artists visited and produced work in response to the Mass Observation Archive, Sussex University and the Ministry of Information collection at the University of London.
This ACE funded series of installations respond to the archives for the 2014 Being Human festival 15th -23rd November at Senate House University of London. Installations in the building and projections have been projected onto the building’s façade on the 15th November to launch the festival: http://beinghumanfestival.org/
The School of Advanced Study is leading research into the history of the Ministry of Information, this project will create new artworks that respond to this research and to that of the M-Ob archive, and their relevance to contemporary international debates and government policy around surveillance and cyber security.
